Semi-circular lead look roofs
The roof is constructed as follows timber joists 100mm tapering to 75mm x 50mm at the leading edge are set at minimum 400mm centres and fixed to a 100mm x 50mm pole plate curved from 100mm in the centre to 75mm at the ends. A semi-circular 150mm x 9mm plywood soffit is glued and stapled to the under side of the leading edge of the roof, this is to give access for site insulation. The facia board is U.P.V.C. or plywood bent to shape and pined with stainless steel polytop nails. The 12mm plywood deck is glued and stapled to the joists and pole plate, to this plywood deck a demountable curved timber former is screw fixed to the leading edge of the plywood to form an overhanging drip future. A plywood demountable former is screw fixed to the rear face of the pole plate. Lead roll effects are fixed and the roof is overlaid with catalysed resin and two layers of 600 gram, glass mat, and a glass tissue. The roof is then over-coated with a grey lead look gel coat.
When cured the demountable semi-circular formers and plywood up-stand formers are removed. The GRP flanges ate trimmed to shape.
This roof type can with some modification be manufactured to receive your on site code 6 lead covering.
