Ashton 3 Period Door Canopy

This canopy is designed to be fixed to existing masonry.

Our Ashton 3 canopy is lightweight timber and plywood canopy with all the sharp detail of traditional joinery combined with the with a realistic lead look G.R.P. (fibreglass) roof cover, useful on refurbishment projects as well as new build, at a fraction of the cost of a porch to give that elusive Kerb Appeal to a property. They are high quality joinery products that are pleasing to the eye quick and easy to fix. The Canopy is treated with Honeysuckle Glasurit Glassohyd natura base coat fungicide stain. A pair of C7corbel brackets and 2 galvanised steel support brackets completes the canopy. The canopy is carried in stock at 1498mm long as standard, for next day dispatch. Wider canopies as special orders can be supplied with over-laid Lead look G.R.P.

Technical Information

The canopy-set consist of a pair of corbel brackets, a 9 mm plywood soffit, and 9 mm plywood deck on 50mm x 50mm framework, plywood webs are glued and air gun nailed to the framework. The 200mm x 25mm mitred facia boards are glued and air gun nailed to the carcass. A 100mm x 25 moulded, mitred architrave are glued and air gun nailed to the facia board. Canopies are fixed to the masonry on mild steel galvanised support brackets with 6 No 100mm x 10mm Chemical fixings. The corbel brackets fixes to the canopy with two 160mm 6mm screws and two 100mm x 6 mm screws through the plywood soffit from above. The G.R.P. lead look roof fabrication slides over the canopy deck and pins (fabricated into the drip edge of the roof fabrication) locate into pre-drilled holes in the carcass drip mould to secure the leading edge of the roof.
The fibreglass structure is a Lead colour Gel coat, one 300gram mat laminated with lead colour resin and one 600gram mat laminated with resin.
The support brackets are 75 x 50 x 3mm box section mild steel arms with 160 x 150 x 5mm fixing plates welded to the arms. The end plates are 85 mm x 50mm x 6mm welded to the ends of the box sections forming a lug to locate the canopy bearer onto, the fixing plates are drilled for 10mm chemical anchors and the fabrication is galvanised (structural calculations available on request).

Framework is Ex 50mm x 50mm.
Webs are 9mm plywood.
Ends are 12mm plywood.

Facia board is Ex 225mmx 25mm.
Architrave is Ex 100mmx 25mm moulded.
Drip mould is Ex 38mmx 38mm.
Plywood soffits are 9 mm WBP.
Plywood top is 9 mm WBP.

Two dummy Corbel Brackets C7 630mm long, Ex 225mm x 75mm (they rest against the masonry). To be glued and screwed to the plywood soffit. (screws provided)
