Ashton A3, A4, A5 & A6 Period Door Canopies

Our Ashton A3, A4, A5 and A6 canopies are traditional timber and plywood canopies designed to receive your lead work or our lead look GRP roof, useful on refurbishment projects as well as new build, to enhance the entrance of any building. They are high quality joinery products that are pleasing to the eye quick and easy to fix. Mild steel galvanised support brackets

The canopy is a hollow timber and plywood carcass designed to fix on two galvanised steel flanged arms that bolt to the masonry and is treated with Honeysuckle Glasurit Glassohyd natura base coat fungicide stain. A pair of C5 corbel brackets completes the canopy. The canopy is carried in stock at 1478mm long as standard for next day dispatch and can be supplied up to four metres long as a special order. Please allow 10 days for longer or shorter dispatch.

Technical Information

The canopy-set consist of a pair of corbel brackets, a 9 mm plywood soffit, a 9 mm plywood deck on 50mm x 50mm sub frame with 9mm plywood struts.
Joints are glued and air-gun nailed. The 200mm x 25mm mitred facia boards are air gun nailed to the carcass. A 100mm x 25 moulded, mitred architrave is-air gun nailed to the facia board. Canopy arms are fixed to the masonry with 100mm x 10mm Chemical fixings.
The canopy fixes to the corbel brackets with two 40mm x 6 mm screws through the plywood soffit from above. The carcass has an open back to receive the two galvanised steel brackets that fix to the outside of the outer course of brickwork. The carcass fits over the brackets and locates on lugs on the ends of the brackets. The g.r.p. roof (if fitted) slides up to the wall and locates on steel pins (fabricated inside the flange) into pre-drilled holes in the timber carcass.

Canopy

All facing timber is Vth Red Deal.
Sub frames are Ex 50mm x 50mm.
Facia board is Ex 200mmx 25m.
Architrave is Ex 100mmx 25mm moulded.
Drip mould is Ex 38mmx 38mm.
Tilt fillet Ex 38mm x 38mm split at 45°.
Plywood soffits, top and struts 9 mm WBP.

Corbel Brackets are C7 640mm long Ex 225mm x 75mm.

Canopy Steel Arms

Ashton 3 & 4 galvanised steel arms
The arms are fabricated from 75mm x 50mm x 3mm RHS with a 160mm x 150mm flange welded to one end and a 87mm x 50mm lug plat welded to the other end. Three fixing holes are drilled in the flange to take 10mm chemical anchors. The finished arm is hot dip galvanised and measure 375mm in length.

Ashton 5 & 6 galvanised steel arms
The arms are fabricated from 75mm x 50mm x 3mm RHS with a 160mm x 150mm flange welded to one end and a 87mm x 50mm lug plat welded to the other end. Three fixing holes are drilled in the flange to take 10mm chemical anchors. The finished arm is hot dip galvanised and measure 631mm in length.
