Timber Period Canopies ~ Ashton Canopies A1_A6

The Ashton A1-A2 are traditional timber and plywood canopies designed to receive your lead work. Thease products are designed to be on site as the construction is being built. The canopies have provision to receive steel restraint straps to be built into the masonry and are conceiled fixed to the canopy carcass under the plywood roof covering.

The A2 caopy is the same specifcation as the A1 but is fitted with our G.R.P. lead look roof as disribed below.

The A3 and A6 canopies are traditional timber and plywood canopies built with a lead look GRP roof that fits over the timber and plywood carcass. The G.R.P. roofs have big head location pins fabricated into the downstand at the leading edge of the roof that locate into pre-drilled holes in the drip rail of the carcass, to prevent the roof from lifting in high winds. The canopies are designed for use on new build projects and refurbishment projects alike, the galvanized steel arms carry the canopys weight back to the masonry out of sight inside the canopy carcass. They are high quality joinery products that are pleasing to the eye quick and easy to fix and give that elusive Kerb Appeal to a property. The Canopy is treated with Kelfer pine Glasurit Glassohyd natura base coat fungicide stain. A pair of C5 or C8 dummy corbel brackets completes the canopy. The canopy is carried in stock at 1470mm long as standard for next day dispatch and can be supplied up to four metres long as a special order. Please allow 10 days to dispatch for longer or shorter products.

Ashton 1
The canopy-set consist of a pair of dummy C5 or C8 corbel brackets, a 9 mm plywood soffit, 12 mm plywood deck on 175mm x 50mm joists. Joints are glued and nailed.
The 200mm x 25mm mitred facia boards are nailed to three sides of the carcass. A 100mm x 25mm moulded, mitred architrave is nailed at the top of and over the facia board. Canopies are fixed to the masonry with 100mm x 10mm sleeve anchors or 100mm x 10mm Chemical fixings. The corbel fixes to the canopy with two 40mm x 6 mm screws through the plywood soffit from above.
The plywood deck is split into three and screw fixed to give access to slots machined into the carcass to receive steel restraint straps to be built though the masonry. The corbels fix to the canopy with 40mm x 5mm wood screws though the soffit board from above.

The Ashton A2 is all as the A1 specification above with a G.R.P. lead look roof that fits over the timber and plywood carcass, but is fitted with our G.R.P. lead look roof as disribed below.

The A4-A5 are lighter weight constructions with 9mm plywood struts seperating ex 50mm x 50mm strechers. A groved Ex 225mm x 25mm fascia board is nailed to three sides of the carcass, with a Ex 100mm x 25mm moulded architrave nailed around the top of the fascia board. The 9mm plywood soffit fits into the grove in the fascia board. a drip rail is fitted to three sides of the top of the fascia board.

The canopies are fitted with our G.R.P. lead look moulded roof covering that locates with steel pins fabricated under the down-stand at the leading edge into pre drilled hole in the carcass, to prevent lifting in high winds..
